Here are some helpful definitions and explanations for you all:

Crohn's Disease
A chronic (long term) inflammatory disease of the digestive track, mainly the intestines.

Ileostomy
A surgical operation in which a piece of the intestine is diverted to an artificial opening in the abdominal wall.

Stoma
The piece of intestine that comes out of the abdominal wall.

Margaret
The name of my Stoma.

Large intestine & Colon
The same thing. The big one after your small intestine.

Small intestine
The wriggly one.

Ostomate
What an ostomy owner calls a fellow ostomy owner

  1. Your attitude is inspiring. A question: I may have missed it, but I didn't notice mention of Humira or Remicaide, These new and costly drugs have kept me fairly healthy. I have had a prior total colectomy for Ulcerative Colitis.
    Of course we travel a unique course. But the "Biologics" as they are called ,can help quell symptom, at least in my case
